| Furniture Refinishing |
| Our furniture refinishing and restoration workshop has been providing quality furniture restoration and repair services since 1983. We have worked on furniture from antique to modern and can handle anything from replacing a broken hinge, to refinishing an entire dining room suite. Our workshop has four main project types. Click on each of the links to check out some of our recent work. Refinishing: Refinishing your furniture will increase the beauty of your furniture while maintaining its integrity and sentimental value. When you bring in a piece for refinishing, we will go over the details of what you would like done. For example, you can choose the stain color and pick out new hardware. Your piece will be stripped of all old finish, then checked over for any repairs needed. After repairs are completed, the piece is sanded to prepare the wood for staining and color-matching. Once the piece is stained the desired color, we spray on our standard satin lacquer finish, unless otherwise specified. We can also handle getting upholstery and caning replaced, if needed. Repair: In some cases, a repair is all that is needed. Repairing your furniture is often cheaper than replacing it and allows you to save your cherished pieces. In addition to standard re-gluing, we can remake missing pieces, glue and patch loose veneer and turn new spindles for replacement. Painting: We offer many different options when it comes to painting your furniture. If you're tired of the color or the perfect piece does not match your decor, we can paint the piece a new color. We can repaint your piece the same color, replacing the cracked, chipped or weather-worn paint. We can also paint your wood finished piece thus changing the overall look and feel of the piece. Or we can perform a combination of painting and finishing, allowing for endless possibilities. We can also add distressing for that truly "Shabby Chic" look. Converting: Converting your old furniture allows you to keep the furniture you love and update it for modern day use. Examples of this include converting a full-size bed to a king-size bed, modifying an antique desk to suit your computer needs or even turning an antique commode into a bathroom vanity. These highlight just a few of the services that our refinishing department offers. If you have a piece that needs work, or you are just not sure what it needs or what can be done, please call or stop by and see how we can help you. We promise to care for your cherished possessions as if they were our own. |
